Beauty at Simon with Love, Olia
Here at Simon, there’s something about the world of beauty that we just can’t get enough of. Maybe it’s the transformative power of makeup to allow us to chameleon into endless variations of ourselves, or perhaps it’s the feeling of wellbeing that comes from knowing that we’re taking care of our skin in the best way possible. Whatever the reason may be, we’re beauty addicts with no hope of recovery! To celebrate all of the incredible beauty offerings at Simon, we paired up with Olia Majd of Love, Olia to bring you our must-try fall makeup look using products found at Simon. A second-generation esthetician, Olia shares our passion for the latest and greatest in skincare and beauty trends and highlights her finds and looks on her seriously envy-inducing site and Instagram.
To make the most of fall’s gotta-have-it products and tools, Olia headed to her local Simon to check out the latest and to pick up everything she needed to create a look that features glowing skin, a shimmering eye, and a subtly dramatic lip. “This fall look is easy enough for anyone to recreate,” she tells us. “I’m all about those simple makeup looks that don’t take a long time.” A girl after our own hearts!
With incredible beauty retailers like Sephora, MAC Cosmetics, Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, Kiehl’s Since 1851, and Bare Minerals; stand-out makeup, skincare, and fragrances from department stores like Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Neiman Marcus; and newer-to-Simon specialty brands like Saje Natural Wellness, Morphe, and Origins, Olia had no shortage of options at her local mall.
I have to admit, I was like a kid in a candy store!” Olia said after she hit the mall. “There are SO many amazing beauty brands at Simon. You can really find everything you’re looking for and discover new brands and products you may never have heard of. I found myself playing around with so many new-to-me products, and I love how so many shops are open to giving away samples and letting you try everything!”
Even with all the options, Olia says that the day of shopping was a walk in the park. “I tend to hate hustle and bustle, but at Simon, it was a piece of cake! Everyone who works there was truly helpful and made my experience so easy.” When asked if she had any standout experiences from the outing, she was quick to tell us, “My favorite moment was definitely snagging some of my go-to products and discovering some newbies as well!”
Below, Olia shows how she created that stunning fall beauty look. First, here’s everything she scored at Simon that you’ll need:
Step 1: To prep my skin I used the Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics FOMO Mask to relieve any redness and calm my skin while soothing it. It leaves the skin so supple and even, and it creates a gorgeous base for makeup application once completed. It’s also a great mask to do at the end of the day due to its skin-calming properties.
To Use: Pinch off some of the jelly and work it between dry hands then apply it to the skin. Wait about 10-15 minutes and rinse off.
Next up, I used the Eau Roma Water from Lush Handmade Cosmetics. This helps to calm, soothe, and balance the skin. Rose water soothes irritations and the lavender helps balance out excess oil.
To use: Just spritz it onto clean skin and wipe any excess with a cotton pad.
My last step to prep skin is to use Kiehl’s Since 1851’s Youth Dose Eye Treatment. I tend to be very dry, so I love using this eye cream to hydrate my eye area and also help with any fine lines and puffiness.
To use: Apply a few dots under the eye area and pat smooth. You can use this alone or under makeup.
Now onto makeup! I’m applying the Lancome Teint Idole full coverage foundation that I found at Neiman Marcus using the Morphe foundation brush. I love this brush — it makes foundation application incredibly seamless and easy.
Next I apply a bit of bronzer from the Morphe Highlight + Contour Palette (8H) to the hollows of my cheeks, jawline, and hairline to add definition to the face.
Blush is my absolute favorite makeup product to use, and I can’t live without it! For today’s look, I brushed the Morphe Blush Trio (Pop of Peach) onto the apples of my cheeks. I love this palette because you can add more to make the look extra dramatic if desired, or opt for a more natural look.
Next up, I used the Morphe Eyeshadow Palette (350) and applied the dark brown shade to my crease, followed by a light brown shade on my lid. I then brought the colors down a bit on my lower lash line for a bit of a smoky look. For all of this, I used one of Morphe’s cult-favorite brushes.
To finish off the look, I went for a plum lip and used the Morphe Lip Gloss in Pixie. I love the consistency of this product as well as the color. If this isn’t the perfect shade for you, they have a huge variety of colors to choose from!
